I just noticed that quite a lot of people liked my last review, which was all about Salt Spray. (just in case you haven’t read that one yet, you can find it by clicking here) Because of that I decided to write another review!
This time I will be talking about something that had been on my ‘beauty wishlist’ for quite some time. I took me a while to go and get it though, as it is a product that is quite expensive in comparison to all my other make up. But now it is not only the most expensive make up product that I own, it is also hands down my favourite and most used product that I own. I am talking about Urban Decay’s Naked 3 Eyeshadow Palette.
When I was in Barcelona, I decided to visit Sephora. Just to outline the situation for you: All Sephora shops have left Holland so I was excited already. My make up cravings were extremely high that day for some reason and I had money to spend. (which is a very rare situation for me as I am broke most of the time)
I went in there and I saw the Urban Decay section. Innocent and unsuspecting I went up there and I decided to just take a look around. At that moment I saw the three most beautiful, magnificent and perfect palettes in the world. I had seen them so much on the internet but in real life it is just the best thing ever. (maybe I have a slight obsession..) I was looking at them and the only thing that was going through my mind was: ‘this is the moment you have been waiting for, it’s now or never. Buy it, BUY IT’ Right at that specific moment, a women with a Spanish accent asked me if she could help me. It was the shopassistent and I asked her which one of the palettes would be best for me. She basically started rambling all about youth and casual, daily make up to brighten up your face but her conclusion was that number 3 would be best for me as Naked 3 is specially designed for younger/teenage girls. She asked me if I wanted to try it out and I was like: yes, I’d love to have my make up done by a make up artist. After she was finished, I looked in the mirror and I loved it! My eyes just popped and looked so much bluer and I just looked so much more fresh and awake in general. And that’s the tale of how I ended up making the best purchase ever.
The first thing you see when you have the palette is the box. The box is basically made of cardboard and with golden letters it says: Naked 3, Urban Decay. Underneath that you see the shades, all broken. On the back of the box they just tell you a bit more about the palette and what’s in there. The inside of the box has a purple/white flower pattern. In my opinion this box is just perfect. It is beautiful but also gives you the information that you might need.
When you open the box you obviously see the palette itself. What I love about the outside is that it is made out of this firm and solid material and again it has these pretty, gold letters on it, which looks so beautiful to me. When you open it up, you see the shades, a brush and a long mirror. What I like, is that this palette comes with a brush that I actually tend to use in combination with my other brushes from Zoeva. (you can find more about them over here) Most eyeshadow palettes come with brushes that you throw away as soon as you see them, but that is not the case with Naked 3. I’m also very keen on the mirror as it is the perfect size and so usefull if you just quickly want to touch up your make up.
The colours in the palette are not only pretty, the quality is also excellent. I love how this product does not have any parabens in it. If you don’t know what parabens are, let me explain: parabens is something which is frequently used in makeup or other beauty products to make sure you can use them for a longer period of time. The problem with this though is that it has been scientifically proven that this product accelerates the cancer cell growth. So I was chuffed to find out that Naked 3 is parabenfree.
I love how all the colours are extremely pigmented and so pretty. Two colours to be carefull with though are Dust and Buzz, everytime I apply them, the glitters tend to fall underneath my eyes and also, Dust is not the most pigmented shade in the palette. Besides these two critics I have nothing else that I don’t like about this palette. In my opinion Strange the the most perfect highlighter in the world. I have never seen a more beautiful highlighting colour. I love to put Limit and Nooner in my crease and Factory, Darkside and Blackheart in my outer v. Besides these, there are so many more combinatons you can create and I keep finding different make up looks everyday with this palette.
Something I liked is that besides the palette, you also get the Urban Decay primer, which is probably the best primer I have ever had. It was 30+ degrees in Barcelona and I was sweating a lot but my eyeshadow was still looking perfect. They say every package lasts up to 7 days but I have been using the same one for over a week now and it’s still not empty. However, the shades from this palette don’t always need primer. I had days where I forgot to put primer on but my make up was still looking okay which I think is very unusual but great.
I think this review was quite clear. I am just loving the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. Yes, it was a bit more on the expensive side, but it was so worth it. I would never recommend anything to you guys that I am not loving myself. So if you are looking for anything good, please give this a go, because I promise you, you’ll love it. You can achieve so many different looks with this pallet. You can go from casual to night time make up so easily. If you are just starting to wear make up, I would say you first buy a cheaper eyeshadow to make sure that you like the look of eyeshadow on you, and after that you can go and get your hands on a Naked palette because it will not dissapoint you. Don’t worry if you are not very good with eye make up or just make up in general, because I am by no means a proffesional in make up and I also manage to get this on properly.
Just give it a go and you’ll see that you will fall in love with this palette, just like I did.
