Summer Style // the prom dress

I am in my senior year of high school, the year of exams, finals, a lot of stress, but also prom! I’m not going to lie, I, like every other girl, was pretty excited about getting my prom dress. So when I was in Brighton the other week, I spent a good day looking for the perfect dress. But in the end, I ended up finding the one!

My dress was a long, navy dress with a flowery pattern and a high neck. If there is one thing I love about a dress, it’s a high neck line. The fabric was flowy and very lightweight; perfect for a warm summer night.

For my shoes I went for a simple nude high heel. I did not have anything specific in mind, I just knew they had to be comfortable enough! After all, I had to wear them a full evening and night.

For my hair I decided to go for a bohemian updo. Now I have to be honest, I did not do this myself. I am ridiculously clumsy when it comes to hair, so I went to the hairdressers for this. My make up however, I did do myself. I used both my Urban Decay Naked 3 and my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette to create this look. I decided to go for a pink toned eye as it would match the flowers in my hair and on my dress. For the lips I kept it subtle with my Mac lipstick in the colour ‘Mehr’.

Summer in Brighton // The Boho Dress

It doesn’t happen too often that you’re in the United Kingdom and the sun is out. But luckily, during my 3 day stay in Brighton, the sun was out in full force and it were 3 proper summer days. When that happens, you got to get your dresses out!

This boho dress from Zara doesn’t really need too many accessoires, if you ask me. I just paired it with some lace heels and I was good to go! Perhaps not the smartest move to wear heels while roaming Brighton all day, but at least it looked nice.

Winter Style // i want to believe

Grunge is definitely the word that inspired this look. Now I know that this outfit may not be the perfect ‘grunge aesthetic’ that I always rave about, but I also wanted some comfort. I started off with a pair of ripped jeans (with some tights underneath cause it’s hella cold here) and a black top and I added my denim blouse as an extra layer to keep me warm. I topped it off with some rings and a choker bracelet and done ! Simple.

Winter Style // the fake glasses

In a previous post I confessed my love for fake, nerdy glasses. I have now finally found my true love. These glasses are quite big, I admit, but I like them a lot. They give your outfit just that little extra touch.

Also, this jumper is hands down the most confortable and warm thing I have ever owned. I love to wear it with a skirt, like I did over here, or with a simple pair of jeans. I don’t know, it looks kinda cool, I guess.

How I Style; A Scrunchie

I don’t know what it is about scrunchies, but for me they just scream Christmas. Maybe it’s the burgendy red colour, maybe it’s the shiny finish or maybe it’s just me. However, scrunchies can be tricky to wear. I have had them laying around my room for quite some time now, but I never really wore them as much, mainly because I had no idea how to. But recently I have found some pretty cute hairstyles that I feel work perfectly with a scrunchie.

The Low Pony: this one is very basic but I like it a lot. It’s just so easy to throw your hair into a low ponytail. If you want to you can mess it up a little bit by pulling out some bits of hair around your face. And you’re done really!

The 90’s Pony: this one has to be my favourite because it just screams 90’s. All you want to do is throw your hair up into a high ponytail. After that, you want to go ahead and divide your tail by using some elastics. I like to make the tail appear fuller by pulling at the hair inbetween the elastics. Feel free to make it as big or small as you like. Again, I like to make it a little bit messier by pulling out some strands around my face.

The Good Ol’ Messy Bun: there are so many different ways to make a messy bun and everyone’s hair works differently. That is why it is kind of hard for me to explain to you how to make a messy bun. But what I like to do and what tends to work for me is to gather all of my hair up on top of my head, take my scrunchie and pull my hair through like I would for a ponytail. However, I am not pulling it through all the way! I stop halfway and wrap my scrunchie around one more time to secure the bun. Remember: the messier, the better!

The Side Ponytail: bringing back the 80’s! All you do for this hair style is gathering all your hair together on the side of your head and make a ponytail. Very easy! You can bring this one as high up as you like and as far to the side as you like! It’s all up to you!

Half Up Half Down: my go to hairstyle. Same technique as you would use for a regular ponytail, but only with less hair. You can use as little or as much hair for this one as you like. It’s totally up to you! Do whatever you like best!

Which one of these did you like best? Let me know in the comments!

I will see you tomorrow!

Winter Style // the red beanie

This outfit might not be the most Christmassy outfit but we cannot be festive all the time.

If you have been following my blogmas this year, you will know that I got this red beanie quite recently. And let me tell you, I have fallen in love with it. Besides the fact that I fangirl everytime I see it (because it is, for the ones who don’t know, a Twenty One Pilots beanie), I also love how it looks with most my clothes. Red is obvioulsy a tricky colour but so far I have been able to wear it with quite a few outfits without a problem.

Another part of the outfit that I like is the denim jacket. I own quite a few denim jackets however, nothing quite like this one. Although it does not have pockets which can be very annoying at times, I do love the slightly oversized feel and the patches. Pair it with a pair of black jeans, a black top and a a beanie or hat for some colour and you are good to go.

I will see you tomorrow!

Winter Style // we used to dream of outer space

Today I am off to an early Christmas celebration at my grandparents house and I thought: why not share my outfit of today? If there is one thing I am obsessed with it has to be space. I admit, I am a space loving geek. I suppose you can imagine how I freaked out when I saw this shirt in the shop. Pair it with a nice choker (another obsession of mine) and some black skinny jeans and you are good to go.

See you tomorrow!
